Vintage collector goes retail

Thirty years of accumulating stuff meant something eventually had to give.  Jeffrey Turck's house was about to burst with sports collectibles.  In the mid-eighties, he and his Dad used to buy 10,000 cards at once.  "We would sit there for hours, even days, sorting the cards and talking about the stats, said Turck.  Years of buying in those volumes created an inventory taking up too much space.  But what to do with it?  Sell!

Detroit Sports Memorabilia has tons of stars, rookies, and commons from all the card brands, sports, and teams.  "We are buying Detroit stuff, so send us your lists" said Turck.  What makes Detroit Sports Memorabilia unique is that they specialize mainly in teams from the state of Michigan: Detroit Lions, Detroit Pistons, Detroit Tigers, Detroit RedWings, MSU, and UofM.  Trading cards are supplemented with coins, pins, pennants and plaques.  There has been a growing interest in vintage sports games "so we added that, in addition to other cool stuff, as we could find it," said Turck.
